A Rich History of Drywall Contracting in the Washington, DC Region
1958
On his way back from Florida to his hometown in Quebec, Canada, Paul Pomerleau saw an opportunity for growth and prosperity in the Washington DC area. Partnering with fellow French-Canadian Jerry Plante, Pomerleau co-founded Mayfair Drywall and became known for their quality workmanship and dedication to customer satisfaction.
1964
Pomerleau goes on to co-found Maryland Drywall Company. Many French Canadians were drawn to join him in pursuit of career opportunities and contribute their talents to building the Washington DC area.
1972
Pomerleau co-founds P & P Contractors with Clermont Pare. Nearly all of the major DC-area drywall companies can trace their roots back to one of these early companies.
1988
Pomerleau goes out on his own to found Maryland Applicators. With each new venture, Paul built upon his expertise and reputation as one of the most skilled contractors in the region.
Today
Maryland Applicators is led by Paul’s two daughters Carol and Christine and their husbands Kevin and Chris. They have led the company with the same determination as their father and are excited to be turning this over to the next generation which includes Carol’s son Mike, son-in-law Nuvan, and a few more outstanding partners.
